NEW YORK (AP) — Drake’s comment of support for Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant just cost the Toronto Raptors $25,000.

Last week, Drake did a show in Toronto and Durant was in attendance.

Drake said, “My brother Kevin Durant was kind enough to come to the show tonight and watch us. I just want him to see what would happen if he came to play in Toronto. Let him know what would happen.”

The crowd cheered and chanted.

The problem: Drake is a “global ambassador” for the Raptors and the NBA saw his comment as public recruiting pitch. That’s a violation of the league’s anti-tampering rules.
