Superstar Beyoncé has broken her silence to address leaked video footage of her sister Solange Knowles elevator fight with Jay Z insisting the famous family has “worked through” the drama.

Fans were sent into a spin on Monday when surveillance footage obtained by TMZ.com appeared to show Knowles lashing out at her brother-in-law as she left a party at The Standard Hotel following New York’s Met Gala on May 5 with her sister and her husband.

Representatives for the stars refused to comment on the incident after the black-and-white clip leaked, but executives at The Standard Hotel managed to track down the employee responsible for the leak and promptly fired the worker, with plans to pursue legal action.

Now Beyoncé has issued a rare statement to the Associated Press to clear up ongoing gossip about what caused the family fall-out, and although she stops short of going into specific details, she maintains her husband and sister have made amends.

The statement reads: “As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident.

“But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it.

“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”
